Harry Styles gets a face full of cake before One Direction interview in NY

Harry Styles wobbled off his pedestal as he momentarily became the least good looking member of One Direction.

What started out as an innocent day of promotion, soon ended in chaos as his cheeky bandmates slam dunked his face into a giant cake decorated with the Union Jack flag.

The boys guest-starred on the morning radio show

The boyband were causing mischief in New York, where they visited The Elvis Duran Z100 Morning Show for a pre-taped interview which was broadcast on Friday.

The quintet were presented with a giant cake to congratulate them on their incredible success, but Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson took great pleasure in submerging the 18-year-old’s pretty boy face.

Harry shrugged off the drama as he beamed his trademark smile, despite initially appearing a little alarmed as he was captured with pretty radio personality Carolina Bermudez.

He later tweeted: ‘I just got caked in the face…and a cake made of ice cream is harder than regular cake. Hard cake in the face.’

Meanwhile, Zayn came over a little reflective, reminiscing about their pre-fame days.

The Bradford teenager, 19, wrote: ‘This time 2 years ago I was auditioning for the @thexfactor in Manchester.. I can’t believe all this has happened since!’

The group, including Irish blondie Niall Horan and foppish Liam Payne, look set to make history as the first UK band to top the US Billboard album chart with their debut record Up All Night.

For a celebratory outing, the lads headed out to watch Spider-Man on Broadway in the Big Apple.

Harry later joked on Twitter about the costume: ‘Just watched Spiderman (sic) on Broadway..was rather enjoyable. I wouldn’t mind one of the suits but they’re quite tight…bit risky.’
